To
Enable One To See Fairies...
a fragrant blend of Lavender, Wild Thyme
& Chamomile
Essential Oils, each candle decorated with larkspur,
& sprigs of Lavender.
This fairy blend is a
poetic mixture that was originally a recipe for the
gardeners greenhouse.
A lovely
tea of the flowers was set out in
hopes of enticing the
delicate visitors
(fairies) to
visit & stay, knowing
they have the ability to
encourage a flourishing
garden.
A subtle bouquet captured in beeswax, a
welcome addition to any space.

Folk Lore
Lavender has long been used in love
spells & sachets. Clothing rubbed
with the fragrant flowers (or
lavender placed in drawers with
clothes) attracts love & places a
positive glow around you. A piece of
paper rubbed with lavender can be
treasured by the recipient for some
time. Lavender is known to even
protect against cruel treatment,
mainly from the hands of a spouse.
These delicate flowers are burned or
smoldered to induce sleep & are
scattered about the home to maintain
its peacefulness. It is said the
plant is so powerful that, if
when depressed, one gazes upon the
plant all sorrow will depart & a
joyous feeling will settle upon the
observer. Indeed, the odor of
Lavender is conducive to long life &
so should be smelled as often as
possible if this is a concern.
Lavender is used in recipes to aid
in healing, purification baths,
carried to see ghosts & worn to
protect against the evil eye.
Despite the association of lavender
to love, in the Renaissance it was
believed that lavender together with
rosemary, if worn, would preserve a
women's chastity. A wish divination:
place lavender under your pillow
while thinking of your wish. Do this
just prior to retiring for the
night. In the morning, if you have
dreamt of anything relating to your
wish, it may come true. However, if
you did not dream, or if they were
unconnected with your wish, it will
not manifest.
